Bridal Veil Facts

On top of Bridal Veil Falls sits the picturesque Smuggler-Union Hydroelectric Power Plant. It was built in 1907 and generated power for the Smuggler-Union Mining Company until the 1950s. This was one of Colorado's most important mineral producers during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. This is the last surviving structure from this historic mineral producer. Today the Bridal Veil Falls power plant supplies renewable energy for the San Miguel Power Association.
